You can purchase the coupons from any of our performers or, you could head down to the ticketing booths in various schools for the coupons.

Hello to all who have been constantly revisiting this blog for new updates!

Get High! '07 ExCo is very sorry to have not updated for a very long time.
Currently, we are still updating the new website which should be out by the end of the week.
The new website would be more interactive, user-friendly and informative than this blog.
So do stay tuned.

Currently, in preparation of Get High! '07, all the performers, instrumentalists as well as the CCA members of Gefang are putting in alot of effort to make this concert a success.

To raise funds for the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, we are selling charity coupons for the event, which entitles you to various privileges, including a goodie bag stuffed with loads of items from our sponsors.

Each Coupon is sold at only $5 and each person can purchase more than one coupon.
Coupon sales will commence from the first week of may.
Details of how to attain the tickets will be made known as soon as details are finalised.

As some of you might know, Youth.sg has started blogging about this event, and the Straits Times has published this event under last Saturday's Charity Column.

The Get High! '07 Executive Committee is currently on a study break in preparation for the JC2 Block Tests.

After the Study Break, we will update the volunteers on more information about the publicity campaign in April.

Upcoming Important Dates

Interested Volunteers
In lieu of raising funds for the concert, we would be conducting street sales to sell various items to raise funds for the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, as well as advertising for the concert.

No matter where you are studying, anyone is entitled to help out with the raising of funds.

More details about Volunteering for the street sales will be updated in the blog soon. so stay tuned!!

Note: People who signed up as volunteers during the audition days would be mainly helping out during the day of the concert

Please be reminded that no matter if you are willing or not willing to commit yourself to the concert and to the agreement, you will have to report for the briefing. Reminder that the details of the Briefing are as follows:

Date: 06 March (Tuesday)
Venue: Hwa Chong Institution (College)
Classroom: A202
Time: 5pm

Please ensure that if you are willing to commit, your parent must have approved of the event. For participants out of Hwa Chong Institution, please get your teacher to endorse Form B as well.

Important Updates

Choice of Songs
To everyone who is keen on auditioning, you will only need to prepare the chorus of your own selected song as well as the chorus of the songs from the list.

For the list of songs, there are 3 songs for guys and 3 songs for girls.
Girls are allowed to sing only the 3 girl songs and the guys are allowed to sing only the 3 guy songs.

For the song Get High, girls please prepare the chorus of the song and the guys please prepare the 'guy solo' for the song.

Rundown for 03Mar

To all auditionees, auditions will promptly stop at 1pm.

Therefore, all auditionees will be arranged in a first-come-first-serve basis. By 1pm, no more auditions will be carried out.

All of the people who have auditioned are required to return to the holding room at 2pm sharp. The results will be made known to all the selected participants.

Selected participants have to stay back after the results have been finalised for a short briefing regarding the concert.

Time: 10am to 1pm

Singing Auditions
Similarly, please prepare 2 to 3 songs of your choice
as well as one song from the following list:

Please bring your own guitars and amplifiers.

Volunteers
Students interested in volunteering for the event can still come down to register.

Participating volunteers have to be from Junior Colleges or Polytechnics.

Due to limited slots, Secondary School and Primary School Students are ineligible to sign up.

Replying to queries

Hi everyone!

1) Regarding the auditions,

Only current JC and polytechnic students are allowed to perform in the Get high! concert '07.
In other words, students waiting for their 'A' levels or diploma results to be released are not allowed to perform in the concert. :(

There is no need to bring karaoke cds as we might not be able to play them for you. Instruments are welcome though! Please bring your own amplifiers, tuners, etc. if necessary.

2) Regarding the sales of charity tickets,

This concert will be FREE-OF-CHARGE. However, there will be the sales of charity tickets which will entitle you to a free goodie bag and entry to the mosh pit area of the concert (better viewing). Tickets are tentatively priced at $5. Ticket sales will start only in mid March. Orders can be made through emailing us ONCE the ticket sales have started.

Stay tune to this blog for more information regarding the charity ticket sales.

3) Regarding volunteers,

Volunteers can help in either backstage (make-up, moving of props and technical support) or downstage (ushers, crowd control, etc.). Further and more detailed job allocation will be done after the number of volunteers is confirmed.

Directions to HCI (College)

Attn: To all who are coming for Get High! Concert '07 auditions/registration on 24 Feb 07

The available buses to Hwa Chong Institution (College) are:

66, 67, 74, 151, 154, 156, 157, 170, 171, 174, 852, 96

The nearest MRT station to Hwa Chong Institution is Newton MRT Station.

From Newton MRT Station, you can take the bus 171 to Hwa Chong Institution (College) from the bus stop opposite Newton Circus.

From Yishun Bus Interchange, you can take the bus 852.

From Bishan MRT Station, you can take the bus 156.

From Little India MRT Station, you can take the buses 66, 67 and 170.

From Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, you can take the buses 171 and 174.

For the buses above, kindly alight at the bus stop in front of Coronation Plaza (a beige colour shopping complex) and walk towards a SPC petrol kiosk seen within sight. You will see the entrance of Hwa Chong Institution (College).

From Clementi MRT station, you can take the bus 154.

From Boon Lay Bus Interchange, you can take the buses 174, 154 and 157.

For the buses above, kindly alight at the bus stop after National Junior College. Cross the bridge and turn to your left. Walk down the path till you see a road leading to the main entrance of Hwa Chong Institution (College).

You will see signs or ushers on that day to direct you to our audition/registration rooms near the entrance of the school.

There are two sections at Hwa Chong Institution - High School and College. The auditions/registration for Get High! Concert '07 takes place at the COLLEGE side. So please make sure that you are at the right section of the school when looking for signs to direct you to the rooms.

Attention to all music enthusiasts who want to be part of this event!

We are looking for students from

Junior Colleges and Polytechnics

to take part in our Get High! Concert '07

Audition Date: 24th February 2007 (Saturday)
Time: 9.00am to 4.00pm
Venue: Hwa Chong Institution Classroom A301
(there will be ushers to direct you to the audition room)

Singing auditions
Please prepare 2-3 Chinese Pop songs to sing for the auditions.
You will be judged by music professionals and selected singers will be notified separately.

Selected singers will have to chance to perform together with the 'Let it Shine' Cast of 2007 and 'Campus Superstars' of 2006 on stage in the cause for aiding charity.

There is no competition or elimination of singers once you get in and everyone will work towards the goal of making the Concert a success!

Selected singers will also undergo intense free training classes to hone their singing skills and stage presence for the concert.

Instrumentalists auditions
